New fund honors Franke Thomas

Carrie Thomas started the Helen Mary Williams/Franke Thomas Access to Wilderness Fund at GCF in 2018 to honor her late husband, Franke Thomas, pictured below, and to help underserved populations connect with natural environments. Meet Our Grantees

Arts in Education of the Gorge recently received a grant to create a series of murals depicting the diversity of agricultural workers who have contributed to the bounty of the Hood River Valley for generations.  Designed by artist Michelle Yamamoto, the murals will be painted by Diamond Fruit workers, local orchardists, community members and students.. read more →
