The Gorge Community Foundation has selected Jill Burnette as the Foundation’s new executive director. Burnette has a long career in non-profit management and has worked with Columbia River Gorge organizations including Maryhill Museum of Art and Mosier School as well as many regional and national organizations. Board president Gil Sharp said, “Jill’s experience in non-profit management as an administrator and fundraiser combine the skill sets the board is looking for in a new executive director.”

Burnette is reaching out to fund advisers to learn about their goals and vision for the Columbia Gorge and how the Gorge Community Foundation can help strengthen the region and address local issues from social services to the arts and environment. She is also meeting with estate planning attorneys and regional service organizations to build awareness of the Gorge Community Foundation. “I am deeply honored by this responsibility,” Burnette says. “The Gorge Community Foundation is one of few entities serving philanthropists and organizations on both sides of the Columbia River, providing essential support that makes our region unique and vibrant.”
